The Million Pound Challenge was created as a staff/customer fundraising initiative where funds raised were matched pound for pound by the bank. The challenge for Louis Kennedy was to identify the potential charity beneficiaries of the funds raised.

We devised and implemented a selection and short-listing system, setting out clear criteria that met the objectives of the Halifax Foundation and fitted with the company’s social responsibility programme. We acted as a conduit for applications helping the company through the evaluation and communication process.

The funds raised grew year on year and in the final year of the programme, a record-breaking £4 million was raised and shared between three strategically relevant charities.

“We couldn’t have achieved this level of success without Louis Kennedy. We had created a (wonderful) monster but without the resources or know how to manage it.”
