The birth of every future guide dog is an exciting event but this one was extra special and a new arrival for fundraising.
In fact this guide dog arrived complete with two pups of her own and joined a long line of guide dogs, big and small, which have stood inside and outside shops and other public places, helping to raise funds for the charity. She’s become one of the most well known and loved symbols representing Guide Dogs.
So not an actual, live guide dog, but a brand new life-sized collection box and instantly recognisable.
“Our life-sized dog collection boxes are a tremendous source of income to Guide Dogs and their iconic design is part of our history. Working with Louis Kennedy to modernise and engineer the design has been an exciting process”
Beth Marsh, Head of Fundraising Development, Guide Dogs
Specsavers branches across the UK were also home to another very special guide dogs – Trusty.
Campaign and puppy were both conceived and produced by Louis Kennedy in collaboration with Start Licensing and Bang on the Door.
“It costs £5 per day to support each working guide dog partnership so with a huge thank you to Louis Kennedy, every Trusty that customers buy will help thousands of blind and partially sighted people to enjoy freedom of movement.”
Gareth Holmes, National Account Manager, Guide Dogs
